What's Happening In Humboldt County?


1) March 31, 2008
The MCSD (McKinleyville), HCSD (Humboldt) and FGCSD (Fieldbrook/Glendale) have all decided this month in their regularly scheduled meetings to not look any further into water fluoridation at the district level. It appears that Blue Lake has also decided to not look any further into fluoridation, although the issue was not specifically addressed at this month's meeting.


2) On February 5, 2008 Manila will vote on whether to allow fluoridation of the community water supply.

3) A forum on fluoridation will be hosted by the League of Women Voters on January 22, 2008, at 7 P.M. in the Manila Community Center.


4) The Eureka Times-Standard reported on the 11/8/2007 meeting of the Humboldt Bay Municipal Water District, during which the Board considered the ramifications of potential actions by the California Environmental Protection Agency, which is considering whether to lower the levels of fluoride that are permitted in community water supplies.
